Hijackers

Hijackers… …are Steven Lee, Paul Batley and Joe Frost, all based outside Norwich. Joe has been into music since about the age of 14 when he got his first synth. "Playing tunes was okay but I used to enjoy programming sounds more than anything…". He got into DnB when some friends played him tracks by Photek and Bukem but it wasn't until hearing the likes of Alien Girl that he was inspired to work on harder sounding tunes. Steven is the instrumentalist in Hijackers, being a very good guitar player he also got interested in samplers and computers after initially looking into using them to prototype guitar tracks that he was working on. With several friends (including Paul) DJing locally he soon started experimenting with techno and DnB. Paul has DJ'd for quite a while, starting mainly in techno and then getting more into Drum n Bass, he used to make mix tapes for his friends when he started out and it was through Steven playing one of these tapes to Joe that they first all got talking. They first all started working together in mid 1999 and after sending out a few demos their first ever track - "Polymorphic" was signed by Moving Shadow.
