Billy James (11)

US lead guitar player, singer, composer, producer, studio engineer, live performer and musical arranger. he began playing guitar at age 15, at age 16 won a contest for a recording contract with RCA records. The RCA producer (Thomas Wayne) had a fatal car accident and the two songs that were recorded for the label were never released. Age 18 went on the road with a band called The Moles traveling from 1967 until 1973. He studed music theory and music composition at the University of South Florida and played with his university professors for a year or more in a jazz rock band. The band played only music composed by Billy James. In 1978 he started a recording studio business in Tampa, FL, and created a studio jazz rock band called the Atlantis Studio Band. They played Billy’s compositions at concerts with major acts for several years. He sold the studio business in 1984 and moved to Los Angeles, CA, where he continued to write and record until 1994. Billy moved back to Atlanta, GA, began playing with a band called Dynaflow. He eventually turned Dynaflow into a blues band and they became regulars at the national harley drags. They performed all over the south at motor speed ways and camp ground arena until 2005.
