Victor Dolgushev and Dmitriy Gorbunov are ‘Parallelogram’. Founded in St. Petersburg, in 2013, this is the new sound of Electronic Russia. Best described as an audibly profound, piercing and cosmic combination of ambient electronica and techno, their strong musical influences, by such great artists as LFO, Stephan Bodzin, Mr. Oizo, Aphex Twin is all but apparent in their collective sound. Parallelogram’s own musical journey started way, way back, back when the guys were at school together. It was in the school yard and classrooms before and after school that their love of song composition (usually written to guitar) began. As their song book and compositions grew so did their skills in basic music production, month by month, year by year, the young duo became more and more skilled at their musical art. As the school years rolled by, our duo’s paths started to take different directions: Victor chose the DJ path and, and his DJ career found him as a regular name at local clubs and parties in and around the St. Petersburg area, his musical partner, Dmitry, however, took a totally different path, the live music route, becoming a guitarist with a touring band. But, music direction could not keep the two friends apart for very long. After a crazy impromptu jam session, where the old friends were able to show each other many of the musical skills that their individual journeys had taught them, the two were reminded how perfectly they worked together and, then and there, they agreed to create a brand new electronic project together. By the time the sun had come up that day, that project had its name: «Parallelogram». The duo were now writing new material together and perfecting their electronic live show, soon Parallelogram were attracting lots of attention from club promoters and record labels alike, bookings starting to pour in from the coolest clubs in Saint-Petersburg. Band quote: ”We want to express our different emotions. To show how life is multifaceted and fascinating”
