George Ziskind

Born in Chicago, Illinois. Died December 12, 2014 in New York City of complications of lymphoma. A talented jazz pianist who ran afoul of problems with substance abuse, he befriended Tadd Dameron while they both were in prison. He played around New York City, though any recordings that he made were either for private use or unissued. Late in life he served as a liner note translator (Italian to English) for Philology.
