Lisanne Tremblay

Lisanne Tremblay is an absolutely unique violinist and composer. Her approach to melody, rhythm and improvising is striking and her music has a rare level of intensity and energy. Lisanne is the first violinist to ever obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance from McGill University and she deepened her knowledge through workshops with Barry Harris, Joe Lovano, Ari Hoenig and studies at the Havana Superior Institute of Arts in Cuba. The musician has recently become the first jazz violin teacher of her Alma Mater. The artist has performed regularly on the vibrant Montreal jazz scene and in the city’s OFF Jazz Festival and world famous International Jazz Festival. She has shared the stage with many gifted players including Danilo Pérez, Greg Osby, Rafael Zaldivar and John Korsrud. In 2010, she was a finalist in the Jazz en Rafale competition, which sparked the creation of her current quartet.
