Stanley Alexander

Austin, Texas musician raised near Roscoe, Texas. After serving in the Korean War, he earned a PhD in English from the University of Texas at Austin. He started teaching in 1962 at the University of North Texas where he sponsored a folk music club. While a professor at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, he and other professors formed The East Texas String Ensemble.
