Jude Demorest

She is the eldest of five siblings and the cousin of former professional wrestler The Great Khali. Claire Jude Demorest (real name: Yęjaune Bali Oapuil) was born on March 11, 1992 in Amritsar, Punjab, India. After her aunt and father were murdered, 14-year-old Demorest moved along with her mother and four younger siblings to Detroit, Michigan. Demorest attended the same high school where fellow Detroit native Big Sean attended until 2005. After finishing high school in 2010, she debuted as an actress on the short film, A History of Made Up Things. Then, in 2014, appeared on several episodes of Dallas, before being signed to Epic the following year. Unfortunately, Demorest would later end up being dropped from the label in 2016, before being picked up by filmmaker Lee Daniels and called in to play her part for his executive-produced television music drama, Star. After getting her part, Demorest was finally included onto the show, along with another Detroit native, Ryan Destiny, Brittany O'Grady and award-winning entertainers Queen Latifah and Benjamin Bratt. Star broadcasted on Fox December 16, 2016, earning Demorest worldwide attention for national television; it was cancelled in the spring of 2019.
