The Hallucinations are a band formed in November 1965 by Douglas Snyder (age 11) and several friends in Orange, Connecticut. They had changed their name (The Castaways) due to a hit single by that group. The group made a few home recordings then, and never released a disc until 2015, when Snyder rounded up several home-made tapes from the early 1970's to release a compilation album. By that time Snyder was the only connection to the original group, and he also played and recorded most of the instruments. "It became a very loose amalgamation," Snyder says and at first we just weren't good enough to play our own songs, so I drifted into other projects. We never played live; we're only a group on paper...or tape!"
