German rock band from east Germany. CHARLIE were founded in Dresden in 1986 by Jörg Wolf and dedicated themselves to melodic hard rock. In 1989, Ina Morgenweck (vocals), Michael Jurischk (guitar, ex-PHARAO), Steffen Gnauck (bass), Ulli (keyboards) and "Kette" Kettner (drums, voc), who are now based in Berlin, were able to establish themselves with two songs in on the youth radio hit lists and also appeared in some television programs. In 1990 the band broke up because Ina Morgenweck went on tour as a guest singer with UDO LINDENBERG. She can be heard on his album "Live in Leipzig", where she also performs the song "Turn Away".
