Franco-American pianist, Anne de Fornel combines with talent different musical activities. Author of numerous articles on the Second Viennese School and the American composer John Cage, in 2012 she became a Doctor in Musicology at the University of Paris-Sorbonne (Paris IV). She also received a Specialized Master’s Degree in “Medias, Art and Creation” from HEC Paris. The Hortus Label has released a number CD’s by this young pianist. In 2012 with the Trio Steuermann she recorded “A Long Voyage: Works for Solo Piano and Chamber Music by Pierre Wissmer”. Three other recordings followed: in 2014, the CD/DVD “Tramages” by the Ensemble Mesostics in which she is a soloist of two contemporary works: Trame IV by Martin Matalon and Interstices by Philippe Hurel and artistic director of the project; in 2015, “Transfigured Night” with the Trio Steuermann that presents works by Arnold Schoenberg, Anton Webern and the young German composer Johannes Boris Borowski; in the same year, a solo CD dedicated to First World War composers. Anne de Fornel was awarded a Master’s degree in piano from the National Superior Conservatory of Music and Dance of Lyon where she studied with Florent Boffard. Among works dedicated to her are Moth by Andrea Agostini, 24 Haïku by Jean-Yves Bosseur and the Klaviertrio by Johannes Boris Borowski. She recently performed as soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of Toulouse in a concert dedicated to J.S. Bach’s keyboard concertos for the Festival “Les Floraisons musicales”, at the Palais Brongniart (Musicora), the Talleyrand Hotel-George C. Marshall Center of the American Embassy in Paris, Artenetra Festival, Musicancy Festival, Piano Lille Festival, Lake District Summer Music International Festival (UK), the Auditori in Barcelona, as well the “Chagall Performance Art Collaborative” in Boston.
