Roy Jowitt

British classical clarinetist. Born 23 December 1938 in London, England, UK - Died 6 April 2012 in Canterbury, Kent, England, UK. His professional career began when, as a student at the Royal Academy of Music, he was invited to become Principal Clarinet with The Sadlers Wells Opera Orchestra. After four years, he joined the BBC Welsh Symphony Orchestra, where he stayed for four years. He was Principal Clarinet with the London Symphony Orchestra (1969-1988).
