شفيق هاشم

Shafik Hashem (born 1930) is a Lebanese musician and violinist. He studied music in Greece. Thereafter in 1952 he went to Egypt where he lead the group of كارم محمود (Karem Mahmoud) and worked with محمد عبد المطلب (Mohamed Abdel Muttilib). In 1958 he married the dancer ناديا جمال (Nadia Gamal), a marriage that lasted nine years. He returned to Lebanon where he worked as a filmscore composer and he also acted in several films. In 1976 he left for Canada were he works as a musician and music teacher.
