Sharan Leventhal

Sharan Leventhal is an American classical violinist, founding member of Marimolin Duo, The Gramercy Trio and the Kepler Quartet, and a professor at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Berklee College of Music. She received her Bachelor's degree at Boston University and Master's from Yale University. Sharan joined the Boston Conservatory at Berklee in 2005 and teaches applied violin, chamber music, and contemporary performance practice. Before that, she held faculty positions at Brandeis University and Michigan State. Leventhal has given over 130 premieres as a soloist and a member of chamber ensembles, including works by Gunther Schuller, Ben Johnston, Virgil Thomson, William Kraft, Pauline Oliveros, Tania León, Simon Bainbridge, Matthew Aucoin, and Fred Hersch.
