Saerom Park (b. 1981) is a Korean cellist. She began playing the piano at three and switched to cello when she was twelve-years-old. In 1996, Park debuted with Moscow Chamber Orchestra. Saerom had been studying with Young-Chang Cho and Andreas Reiner at Folkwang Hochschule in Essen from 1999 to 2008. Some of her most influential mentors at the time were Bernard Greenhouse, Boris Pergamenschikow, Alexander Kniazev, and Matt Haimovitz. In 2000, Saerom Park founded Trio Imàge with Gergana Gergova (violin) and Pavlin Nechev (piano). They won the third and audience' prizes at the Sixth Franz Schubert and Modern Music (FS&MM) International Chamber Music Competition in Graz, Austria. The trio collaborated with Hatto Beyerle, Erich Höbarth, Gábor Takács-Nagy, Johannes Meissl, Christoph Richter (2), and other renowned musicians. Thomas Kaufmann (2) accepted Park's chair in the ensemble in 2007. An avid chamber musician, Saerom has participated in numerous international festivals, including Schubertiaden Atzenbrugg, Belgrade International Cello Fest, Musique de Chambre en Normandie, Varna Summer International Music Festival, Gidon Kremer's Lockenhaus Festival, and Prades Festival. Recordings of her concerts were broadcasted by a few major radio stations, such as WDR 3 and ORF. Currently residing in Germany, Saerom Park works as Ensemble Resonanz' principal cellist.
