She began her study of organ at age 10, and at 14 became a church organist in New Orleans, LA. Her formal study of organ included the teachers Palmer Christian at the University of Michigan, Charles Courboin in New York City, and Marcel Dupré in Paris, France. She came to the attention of the Canadian-American impresario Bernard LaBerge, who represented European and American organists including E. Power Biggs, Carl Weinrich, Louis Vierne, and Dupré. Coci and LaBerge married in 1937 and had 2 sons, Bernard and Philip. LaBerge died in 1951, and Coci married Alexander MacRae in 1958.
