Jack Ryan (7)

John F. Mulcahey, known as Jack Ryan during his long career with WAKR in Akron, Ohio, was born in Niagara Falls, NY, and grew up in the Boston and Philadelphia areas. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Journalism and chose a career in radio, first in Reading, Pa. and then radio and TV in Akron, Ohio. He married Frances Butler, the love of his life, in 1984 and shortly thereafter retired from WAKR and moved to the Cincinnati area. Mulcahey died on January 23, 2018 at the age of 93.
