Paula Jordan (2)

Paula Jordan was born in Strasbourg in 1896. As a German she was expelled from Alsace in 1919 and lived in Frankfurt, Offenbach am Main and Leipzig, where she enjoyed a comprehensive art education. She left the GDR in 1952 and moved to Stuttgart, where she died in 1986. In addition to the illustration of many other books and woodcuts in expressionist style Jordan also created church windows and murals.
