Arcade is the Barbershop Harmony Society’s 1992 Mid-Atlantic District Champions. First formed around 1982 in Dundalk, MD with George Wagner on tenor, Diz Disney on lead, Rick Taylor on baritone, and Jimmy Grant on bass. They quickly became a very popular show quartet. Diz Disney wrote and arranged a few original songs for them and they imitated several popular quartets. They released their first album in the early to mid-80’s which was self-entitled. In the mid-80’s, George left the quartet and was replaced by Dave Hinman as the new tenor. They released two more albums with Dave entitled “The Very Thought Of You” and “Replay” which were both released on cassette tapes. They were semi-finalists in the 1987 & 1988 SPEBSQSA International quartet contests and they finally won the Mid-Atlantic District Championship in 1992. Just a few short months after they won the district, bass, Jimmy Grant, died from a heart attack at age 56. The quartet continued to sing together for another year with Bill Cody, bass of Vaudeville, replacing Jimmy as bass before finally calling it quits. They had a few reunion performances and their last show to date was at the 2017 Dundalk Beer Blast with Mike Kelly singing bass.
