Pete Scott was born in Walker, Newcastle upon Tyne. He started out singing in folk clubs and went on to perform both nationally and internationally. In the 70s and 80s, Pete toured extensively, supporting major names like Lindisfarne, Janis Ian, Judy Tzuke, John Martyn and Richard Thompson. He suspended regular gigging in the 90s to concentrate on writing and teaching, including contributing to a number of successful theatre projects. He combines his writing and performing with a successful career as a freelance music teacher. He's worked in many diverse environments, including a two and a half year stint as resident musician in a high security prison. Pete has produced several albums plus his homage to Joe Wilson, The Day Of Life, which Get Rhythm magazine have called a "regional classic". His album Talking To A Stranger was launched in November 2004 and Why Sing Goodbye Songs in May 2008. Pete's music has also been included in the Northumbria Anthology, a musical celebration of the north east of England's history and culture.
