Sally Stewart (2)

American vocalist better known by her stage name Sally Stuart, from Columbus, Ohio Stuart began her musical career at the age of nine, when her mother, a lyric soprano, gave her piano and voice lessons. In 1940 her church choir director, who also acted as program director for WBNS in Columbus, asked her to come to the studio for voice coaching. In the fall of 1942, she was signed as a regular vocalist on WBNS. In 1943 she joined Sammy Kaye's orchestra, and later Vaughn Monroe's orchestra.
