Swedish guitarist and composer, born December 1, 1919 in Gudmundrå, Västernorrland County (Ångermanland), died February 22, 2007 in Stockholm, "Swedish jazz discography 1899-1999" notes a recording by Kjell Sjölund's Trio, made in March 1950 on a so-called stone cake (78-turn). The trio consisted of Kjell Sjölund guitar, Rolf Larsson piano and Arne Söderlund bass. In the same month, a recording was made with Kjell Sjölund's Guitar Quartet, consisting of guitarists Kjell Sjölund, Bengt Högberg and Lennart Ahlbom and bassist Arne Söderlund. In the film En skärgårdsnatt from 1953, two of Sjölund's compositions, Beguine Fantasy and Boogie Blues, are played, the latter a co-composition with Andrew Walter. In the early 1950s, Sjölund designed a microphone, which under the name "Kjell" was supplied with Levin's orchestral guitars.
