Pioneering Tanzanian hip-hop producer of Dutch and Tanzanian descent, born in Rotterdam, Netherlands and raised in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. P-Funk Majani is credited as the originator of the style of hip-hop known as 'bongo flava'. An East African style with lyrics performed in Swahili. He is the founder and owner of Bongo Records and is to date the only Tanzanian music producer to win four best Music Producer awards at the Kilimanjaro Music Awards.
