John Jackson (born February 25, 1924, Woodville, Virginia, USA - died January 20, 2002, Fairfax Station, Virginia, USA) was a blues, folk, country (Piedmont Blues) singer, storyteller, banjo and guitar player. Music was not his primary activity until his accidental "discovery" by the folklorist Chuck Perdue in the 1960's. Jackson had effectively given up playing in his community in 1949. He made several recordings under his own name as well as recording with Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan to name a few.
