Amalio Cuenca

Amalio González Cuenca was a Spanish flamenco guitarist, known worldwide in the history of the art of flamenco guitar as Amalio Cuenca, born in Riaza on July 10, 1866. There's no information about his training before April 14, 1898, playing at Teatro de la Zarzuela in a tribute to zarzuelas singer Lucrecia Arana. In this year he was contracted by several client shows that he was considered a master of classical flamenco music. He formed a duo with another guitarist and also gave many concerts in Madrid. He is believed to have died in France in the early years of the 1940/1950 decades. He was a good friend of painter Ignacio Zuloaga y Zabaleta.
