British bassist and guitarist, active in Belgium. Started his career as guitarist for Antwerp rock 'n' roll groups The Modern Vampires and The Navarones in the early sixties, before moving onto psychedelic and jazz-rock with Life, Time Is Now and Us For You. In the early seventies he switched to bass and became a member of Ferre Grignard's backing band, which evolved to a group called Mammouth. After experiencing some success with 5th Ball Gang and moving into new wave with Cleaver (2), Spencer moved to France and Spain, where he mostly played with flamenco and gipsy artists. He later returned to Belgium, where he died in 2013.
