030 was formed by Matthias Hanselmann for a ARD-/SFB-TV-special called "Mitten drin und voll daneben" which was broadcasted on 1985/05/28. Matthias Hanselmann also composed the eponymous song and was one of the moderators of the show. The name "030" was chosen because it is the area code for Berlin. 030 consisted of several artists from West-Berlin: Bela B., Farin Urlaub & Sahnie (aka. Die Ärzte), Axel Kottmann, George Kranz, Jo Reitz, Annette Kluge, Matthias Wittling, Erich Räuker, Brigitta Nabucet (under the Alias: Else Nabu), Enni Gerber, Frank Lüdecke, Richard Wester, Lola, Ping, Skip and Matthias Hanselmann himself.
