German-born, Swedish instrument maker and folk musician, now living in Dalsland, Mellerud, born August 23, 1960. He has run the company Borduninstrument Alban Faust since 1990. Faust is above all known for having further developed the Swedish bagpipe, also called pôsu. He is also a musician and is, among other things, active as chairman and game leader for Dalslands Spelmansförbund. In the summer of 2009, Alban Faust was awarded the Zornmark in silver, which gives him the right to call himself national fiddler. He has also received the Dalsland Medal and Mellerud Municipality's Culture Prize. Alban has released ten CDs with different constellations.
