Diligent worker of music and writing - Straumes Jānis, š. g. on November 20. Born in 1861 Sept. 16 In the family of the owner of Druvienas Ġempos. Worked as a contributor to Dienas page, Tēvija, Rota, etc. c. Wrote the plays: Bez vruta, Vagars, etc. c. translated by Master Balcers and Taiga. Published the Baltic music calendar, organized the song collection Dziesmu pagalms, the anthology of poems Dzejas rota. Wrote several solo songs and folk dances for Blossfeld's publication. As a choir leader, he participated in the 3rd and 4th general singing festivals, where he won awards (with the Riga, St. Petersburg Arriga and Jelgava Lira choirs).
