Bud Herrmann

(15 Apr 1925 in Los Angeles, California -- 01 Jun 1985 in Hollywood, California) A musical "natural" Bud was eight when, in the company of his mother, he toured Europe for 18 months performing piano recitals. The youngest of three children born to German emigrants who settled in California, he joined the Coast Guard in 1943 for a hitch in the South Pacific which ended in 1946. Returning from active duty, Bud organized his own orchestra, playing Southern California and Las Vegas for nearly a decade. While at the Flamingo Hotel in Vegas, he joined Benny Goodman, with whom he toured the North American Continent for two years. He is known to have released two LPs: “Music of Victor Young,” and “Grand Style.”
