Дмитрий Яичков

Dmitry Moiseevich Yaichkov(b. 1869, place of birth unknown; died December 30, 1953, Bethany (Ptitsegrad), near Sergiev Posad) - church composer, graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory; in the late 1890s lived in Riga, then in Tiflis (Tbilisi); in 1909 he was a singing teacher at the Teacher's Seminary in Volsk, Saratov province. The subsequent events of Yaichkov's life are unknown, but there is evidence that after the revolution he settled in Bethany (later renamed Ptitsegrad), in the vicinity of Sergiev Posad, where he lived the rest of his long life. Although the authorities knew that he was a composer of church music, they did not touch him, but on the contrary appreciated his musical and pedagogical activity among the people.
