Matt McKenna is a Los Angeles, California based composer and instrumentalist.......Born in the UK and raised in Texas, Matt had a child’s sized acoustic guitar thrust into his hand at the age of five and spent his formative years cutting heads with players many times his age at local music shops, absorbing all the advice they could offer. He continued studying and performing through his childhood and into high school. At age sixteen Matt attended a competition with his school stage band, turned his 300 watt Peavey amp up to twelve and delivered a god-awful ear splitting guitar solo in the middle of ”Theme from Rocky”........... The judges were stunned, his director was mortified, and they sent him home…….…............... with “Texas All State Jazz Guitarist” honors that is. Ever since then he’s had a soft spot for the too loud stink of electric guitar, interesting sonic textures, great music. Matt has gone on to compose for commercials, documentary films, cartoons, video games and feature films and has played, and worked with many notables
