Reimer Mierke

(Fehmarn in 1933 - 1979) was an East German composer and music editor. After living and studying in Rostock for a while, he moved to Berlin and worked there as a music editor for radio and television. His first compositions were published in 1956. Das Kann Der Mann Für's Leben Sein was sung by Ruth Brandin in 1961, but was not allowed to be published because he moved to the west of Germany a little later. The song only appeared in 1966 on AMIGA under its pseudonym "Harald Jürgens". He also composed songs and wrote lyrics as "Frank Felix".
