New Zealander classical cellist and author, born 1928. In 1960, he took up the position of Principal Cello in the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1964, he was appointed Principal Cello with the NZBC Symphony Orchestra. He married the opera singer, pianist, & vocal coach Emily Mair in England in 1951.
