Margrit Braegger

Swiss writer, illustrator, musician; (* September 25, 1906 St. Gallen, died August 31, 1970 St. Gallen). After completing a degree in music (singing and piano) and performing small theater roles, Margrit Braegger turned to the arts and crafts, tinkering with and creating animal and other dolls, and created her doll cabinet, with which she made guest appearances in many Swiss cities from 1934-1939. In addition, she had engagements as a singer in Vienna, Munich and Paris until the Second World War stopped her singing career. Back in St. Gallen she wrote fairy tales and children's songs, for the texts of which she also composed the music and illustrated the fairy tale books herself. Her fairy tale games were performed on theatrical stages, she also wrote fairy tales for records. Pseudonym: Grete Berg.
