American vocal group, originally called the Lane Sisters, from Bridgeport, Connecticut The group originally consisted of sisters Dorothy, Grace and Betty Lane. They sang with The McFarland Twins And Their Orchestra in the late 1930s and early 40s, and briefly with Tony Pastor and Carl Hoff before joining the orchestra of Vaughn Monroe. They became very popular during the time with Monroe, touring and recording with him extensively, and Vaughn also added a fourth member to the group, Maree Lee. The group got broken up in the mid-1940s after Grace and Dorothy got married. Maree Lee joined The Moon Maids, and Betty continued as a solo singer until getting married in the early 1950s. In 1961, the sisters got back together under their original name, the Lane Sisters, at the encouragement of Grace's husband publisher Al Gallico, and recorded "Peek A Boo Moon" and "Birmingham Rag" for Landa Records.
