Rev. W. L. Jones, the son of Willie and Katie Howard Jones, was born on February 16, 1931 on Lake Providence, Louisiana, the third of fifteen children. He was educated in the public schools of Lake Providence, La. and exposed to a religious life at an early age by his parents who were active in a small Country Church as Deacon and Superintendent of Sunday School. He married Barbara Clay and out of this union seven children were born.
