The InTime Quintet specializes in performing music in the style of tango nuevo created by Astor Piazzolla. The quintet consists of Henrik Perelló violin, Markku Lindeman accordion, Tuomas Turriago piano, Jorma Salmela guitar and Petri Mäkiharju bass. The musicians continue to carry on the live performance of Piazzolla's quintet music in a self-righteous manner, bringing it to its own temperament, which may not be quite normal in the Nordic countries. In 1994, InTime Quintet came to the attention of the music world by winning the first international Astor Piazzolla competition in Italy. and has since recorded 5 CDs of this music (ALBA). In addition to concerts in Finland, the band has performed in Sweden, Estonia, Denmark, Russia, France, Argentina, Japan, Emirates and Germany and has received an enthusiastic reception in concerts and jazz clubs as well as in chamber music, folk and avant-garde festivals. Finnish contemporary composers such as Kalevi Aho, Hannu Pohjannoro, Ilari Laakso, and Leonid Bashmakov have commissioned works for the quintet, with a viewpoint extending from the traditional style to the avant-garde. InTime Quintet also collaborates with dance artists such as La Camorra (Mobita-Dansco), Kaari Martin and Tommi Kitti. The InTime Quintet repertoire now also includes finnish well known songs adapted to the tango nuevo spirit. In 2015 the quintet released the record "Kotimaiset Tangoklassikot" featuring the singer Jari Pekkinen.
