Humberto Gabriel Lantigua

Born in the Dominican Republic in 1970; Humberto Gabriel Lantigua, a merengue drummer / vocalist, has had a rough entry into the Latin music industry. Originally professionally named as Gaby Gabriel on Sony Discos 1995 album release "Solo Y Con Ganas"; until a Miami based Salsa performer / percussionist sued Sony Discos over the professional name that he had used for some 10 years plus. The artist, whose real name is Gabriel Castillo even recorded 2 independant record albums for a CBS Records label as Gaby Gabriel. Later that division of CBS Records would be bought out by Sony Discos. In the end, Humberto Gabriel Lantigua changed his professional name to Gaby L. on his 1997 album release, sarcastically titled "Ya No Soy Gabriel". After the extremely soft sales of his second album; he went back to his given name of Humberto Gabriel Lantigua and has worked composing music for several Latin music industry artists.
