Ann Raye

Anne Raye was a country singer from Mississippi, USA. She was born Martha Ann Barahanovich in Biloxi Mississippi 31 August 1939. Her father who was also a booking agent , Frank 'Yankee' Barhanovich, managed her. At age 13 she was signed to Starday records. At age 14 she performed at the Grand Ole Opry. She then signed to Decca records. She shared the stage with Elvis Presley on a few occasions in the 1950s. In 1955 they both performed at a show at Jesuit High School in New Orleans. She convinced her father to bring the then unknown star to Biloxi. Elvis Presley's performance at the Croatian Slavonian Lodge was the first of many gigs on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Ebberman continued to open shows for Elvis, mostly at military bases across the southeast. She stopped performing in 1957 when she got married.
