She was born in Caracas - Venezuela on July 30. She is a versatile artist who has excelled as a singer, composer, artist, dancer and audiovisual producer. From an early age she was part of the Youth Cantoria of the Schola Cantorum of Caracas and participated in several national and international festivals in Canada, United States and Finland, as well as in the recording of two record productions. She studied piano, singing lessons, four and Afro-Venezuelan percussion. Also of theatrical training, ballet, flamenco, contemporary dance and traditional dance. She completed her higher education at the Central University of Venezuela, where she obtained a degree in Arts, cinema mention. Her project as a singer-songwriter has quickly positioned her as the young Venezuelan artist with the greatest international potential. Laura combines cumbia, Venezuelan drums, folk, funk, reggae, waltz, pop, swing and improvisation in an evocative voice, which modulates and mixes suggestive dark tones, blues and jazz, with tonality clear and diaphanous of light sounds and at the same time, powerful. She has been invited to the Caracas Festival in Contratiempo (2013 - 2014); the Cinemandino Festival (2012), Virgen Fest (2013), CineRock Festival (2013); at the closing of the Chacao Book Fair (2013), at the 1st Festival of Songwriters Generación Siglo XXI, organized by the magazine La Dosis (2013); and the Festival Through the Street (2012 - 2013 - 2014). She has also participated in the musical productions Fiesta with Billo, Las Canciones de Billo, La Canción de Caracas, singing with the Municipal Symphony Orchestra of Caracas, the Orquesta de Andy Durán, Memo Morales and the Retropicales group. In October 2014, she was the guest singer on the "Seguros de lo nuestro" tour of the prestigious Venezuelan group Ensamble Gurrufío. In September 2014 she participated with her band in the Pepsi Music Awards where she was also nominated as Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Refreshing Artist of the Year. In November 2014, she premiered her first video clip of the promotional single "Late", directed by Pedro Mercado, which in less than four months reached 50 thousand views on YouTube. She was the only woman in the last concert of the Rock and MAU project in the Aula Magna of the Central University of Venezuela (December 2014), standing out on stage with a version of the "Tonada de Luna plena" by Simón Díaz that she raised with applause to all the audience in the room. Laura Guevara and her band were selected to represent Venezuela at the Ibero-American Music Expo that takes place in the city of Bilbao, the Basque Country in Spain (May 2015). In the year 2015, the young singer Laura Guevara competes for the largest number of statuettes, at the Pepsi Music Awards in Venezuela a total of seven nominations and manages to win 4: Pop theme, Video pop, Theme of the year, Video of the year (all for the single Late), pop artist, female artist and artist of the year, in February 2016.
