Hellkronor

A female-fronted Japanese hardcore punk band originally formed in 1985 as ギプス (= Gipusu, originated from a German word for orthopedic cast, “gips”), mainly active in Tokyo hardcore scene during the mid ‘80s playing Gauze's 'Shodoku Gig' series shows etc, but had ties to noise and goth scenes as well. The vocalist Ranko Shinohara is known for her insane BDSM performance on a hard-to-find "Jane･Doe 66" VHS video release (1987) with Hijokaidan. Another main member Jason played in Sex Android and ADK Records-related hardcore band, Molugu. Their latest bass player is Kannon from G.I.S.M.. During the original incarnation of the band, their music later evolved to hardcore punk with some goth and avant-garde influences, and played at least one show with Hijokaidan and Vasilisk around 1987. The band lineup during that period included a bass player Seiji who is best known as the member of Ex-Ans. The band disbanded sometime in the late '80s without releasing anything, but got back together in 2014. The reunion lineup featured Ranko on vocals, Drop on guitar, Leger on bass, and Jason on drums. All these 2014 members except the guitarist also played in the original incarnation of the band during the '80s. The bass player was then replaced by Kannon in 2015. Also, the band renamed to Hellkronor. Their first ever release "人肉夢" (Jin-niku-mu) CD was put out by the band's own Hikidashi-Kakusei Label the same year.
