(Calotmul, Yucatán, October 20, 1902 - Mérida, Yucatán, November 11, 1986) Poet. Since 1921 he lived in Mexico City; where he stayed for twenty-five years. In 1927 he wrote the verses of "Ojos Tristes" that Guty Cárdenas musicalized and was awarded at the theater Iris. It was the most recorded song by Guty Cárdenas in Mexico and New York. He wrote more songs with other composers: “Como Una Estrella”, with Ricardo Palmerín; “Por El Camino Y La Huella”, with Pepe Domínguez; “La Copa Azul”, with Ermilo Padrón; “Dos luceros” y “Como pétalo en flor”, with Manuel López Barbeito; “Beso santo”, with Fausto R. Cámara; “Los bucles de tu pelo”, with Ricardo Pasos Peniche; “Valladolid”, with Lauro Santa María, y “Sublime vicio”, with his nephew Héctor Aguilar Quiroz.
