Isaac Ortiz

Paraguayan tenor, born on June 3, 1939 in the Tacumbú borough of Asunción. Since the age of 12 he performed with renowned Paraguayan artists, such as in the cast of José Leandro Melgarejo, or Julián Rejala and Wilma Ferreira in the Orquesta Folklórica Guaraní. Later, on the recommendation of Wilma Ferreira, he studied singing at the Escuela Nacional de Canto with Sofía Mendoza, where he received a scholarship and became a Singing Teacher after six years. One of his most memorable recordings is the LP he recorded with Eulogio Ayala Recalde's Orquesta Folklórica Paraguaya. With her teacher Sofía Mendoza she sang arias from zarzuelas and operas. When he was in the Santos Lima orchestra, he received the nickname “El tenor de las guaranías”. In 1967 the offer of Reinaldo “Rubito” Medina appeared. That was how he joined Los Guaireños along with Marciano “Chano” Lezcano and Marcelino Benítez. With this formation they performed in Barcelona, ​​Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Rumania, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Istanbul, Ankara, Ismirna, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq and others.
