Grith Fjeldmose

Danish-Swedish opera singer (soprano) and actress, born August 24, 1953. She is also politically active in the Left Party and since 2019 municipal councilor in Gothenburg. Prior to that, she was the first vice chair of the Culture Committee in Gothenburg. Fjeldmose studied at the Stage School in Gothenburg and made his debut in 1981 as a soloist in the role of Valencienne in The Happy Widow at the Stora Teatern. After that she was at the Gothenburg Opera until 2003. Among her other opera roles are Adina in Kärleksdrycken, Adele in Läderlappen, the title role in Madama Butterfly and Susanna in Figaro's wedding. She has also made guest appearances in Copenhagen, where she has sung roles as Roxanne in Cyrano and "the Swedish singer" (Jenny Lind) in H.C. Andersen.
