Frederik d. IX

Frederik IX of Denmark, born 11 March 1899, died 14 January 1972, king of Denmark from 1947, father of Dronning Margrethe II. As part of his education while crown prince he was trained in conducting. A classical quartet was set up for his training that took place at the Royal Castle with his mother at the piano. Later on he occasionally conducted Det Kongelige Kapel for private performances, but rarely in public performances.
