American singing comedian, entertainer and pianist. popular in the 1940's. Born January 28, 1897 in Wayne, Indiana Died April 7, 1990 in North Hollywood, California. She was known for her personality, showmanship, and her skillful handling of her story-telling songs and talk numbers and a "faculty for making the naughty seem nice". To show some of her popularity, originally scheduled for two weeks at the Gopher Grill in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1942, she remained at least fourteen weeks. Her accompanying pianist and conductor of her band was Alex Studer.
