Manuel Villar

Spanish composer, singer and music teacher, also knonw as Manuel Villar y Jiménez and Manuel Villar y Giménez (Tudela, Navarra, 3 May, 1849 - Bilbao el 28 de octubre de 1902). At the age of 18, he won a place as a singer in the church of Santiago in Bilbao, which he occupied until his death. His didactic works "Prontuario o Gramática musical", "La música en las escuelas elementales" and the songs collection "Carteles musicales". His most popular compositions are "Laurak-bat", "Árbol querido", "Himno de los Auxiliares" and the zortzico for voice and piano "No te olvido" dedicated to his mother.
