Gil Miranda

Singer, songwriter and guitarist, Gil Miranda chose the plurality of rhythms of Brazilian popular music to express himself artistically through singing. He perfected his harmony studies with Ian Guest, and exercised his knowledge of vocal arrangement, especially at the head of Grupo Ébano, a vocal group with which he worked for ten years, with an album produced by pianist and arranger Fernando Merlino. He expanded his singing work by participating in national and international tours as backing vocals for artists such as Seu Jorge, Cidade Negra, Sandra de Sá, as well as participating in studio recordings on albums by Gilberto Gil and Milton Nascimento, Maria Betânia, Simone, Alcione , Tribute to Tim Maia, Joanna, Margareth Menezes and others, under the direction of music producers such as Guto Graça Melo, Liminha, Paul Ralphes, Moog, Julinho Teixeira and Roberto Menescal. In his solo work, Gil Miranda shows academic and jazz references in his compositions, built on strong roots of Brazilianness, notably marked in his style of interpretation
