Kay Foster

American vocalist who performed with the orchestras of Benny Goodman, Georgie Auld, Artie Shaw and Tony Pastor in the 1930s and early 1940s. Eventually she became tired of traveling, and moved back to Detroit, where she sang at the local radio station WWJ. She retired from singing during World War II to start a family with her husband, trumpeter Chuck Peterson (married in 1942).
