Nicholas Sillitoe is a unique British/Polish composer and music producer, living and working in Kristiansand, Norway. Operating in a vast array of post-classical, electronic and folk music genres, over recent years he has scored several feature films, prime-time TV dramas, prize-winning short films, and many high-profile worldwide commercials. In 2015 Nicholas won the Amanda prize for best film music for the feature film "The Disappearing Illusionist" (Mer Film). Recent television drama soundtracks include "Occupied" (Netflix) – all three seasons of the popular dystopian scandinavian tv drama shown worldwide in 2015-2020, "Kommissarie Winter" (SVT), "Størst av Alt" (NRK), "Torpedo" (TV2), as well as the main title theme for "Himmelblå", co-written together with Anne Marie Almedal for the record-breaking Norwegian drama series. Recent film scores (both features & shorts) include: "Mesteren" (directed by Charlotte Sieling), "Mobile"(directed by Truls Krane Meby), "Majorens Sønn" (Dokufilm), Amanda, Chicago & Tromsø prize-winning short "Amasone" (directed by Marianne Ulrichsen), Cannes-nominated short film "Kjøttsår" (Cold), "Ella" (directed by Hanne Larsen), "En Folkefiende" (directed by Erik Skjoldbjærg), "Kjøter" (directed by Marius Holst), "5 Løgner" (directed by Lars Daniel Krutzhoff Jacobsen), and "Brakkvann" (directed by David Reiss-Andersen). Nicholas is also well known for his pioneering electronica productions, under the artist/producer names Illumination & Chilluminati - with several worldwide releases over the last 20 years on labels like Internal/London Records, Music Man, BMG, and Jazzland/Universal, in collaboration with Tromsø techno legend Per Martinsen. Together they previously performed as DJ's and brand ambassadors for Café del Mar tours around the world, with successful remixes for Mari Boine, Bugge Wesseltoft, Nils Petter Molvær, Lamb, Cirque du Soleil, to name but a few. As a child, Nicholas was a remarkably gifted boy soprano, touring the world with both English National Opera & The Royal Opera House, releasing "On Wings Of Song" (EMI/Classics for Pleasure) in 1984. Nowadays, Nicholas focuses his musical innovation towards all things filmmatic, whether it be his trademark post-classical soundtracks or his folktronic pop productions for Anne Marie Almedal – released on his own recording imprint "+47". In addition Nicholas also works as a music supervisor for film & tv in Scandinavia, working with placements of songs in soundtracks.
